ReConvert alternative: flat price or volume-based plans
ReConvert, published by Upsell.com, is one of the most reviewed upsell apps on the Shopify App Store, with thousands of reviews. It covers a wide funnel: product page, cart, checkout and post-purchase offers. If you are comparing alternatives, the pricing model is usually where the question starts.
How ReConvert is priced
The entry plans are cheap, and each one comes with a ceiling. According to its App Store listing:
| Plan | Price | Included |
|---|---|---|
| Upsell Basic | $4.99 / month | Up to 50 orders or $50 of upsell revenue |
| Upsell Growth | $9.99 / month | Up to 100 orders or $100 of upsell revenue |
| Upsell Business | $19.99 / month | Up to 200 orders or $200 of upsell revenue |
The listing adds that charges increase as your monthly order volume or upsell revenue increase, with the rest of the scale on their full pricing table.

What this means as you grow
A price tied to orders or upsell revenue has a logic to it: you pay more when the app does more. The catch is that both numbers move for reasons that have nothing to do with the app, such as a good season, a new product or an ad campaign. At 200 orders a month you are already at the top of the three plans shown on the listing, and what comes next depends on the full table.
So before comparing, find your real monthly orders and your real upsell revenue over the last few months and place them on the current scale. That number is the one to compare, not the entry price.
What ReConvert does beyond upsells
- Offers across the product page, the cart, the checkout and the post-purchase page.
- Product recommendations, bundles and cross-sells.
- A/B testing, analytics and segmentation.
That breadth is the app’s strength, and the reason a narrower tool will not replace it feature for feature. The question is how much of it you use.
What FlatUpsell does differently
FlatUpsell does two things: an offer on the cart page when the customer clicks Checkout, and a one-click offer after payment. Rules are set by product or collection, post-purchase offers can be A/B tested with up to three products, and the dashboard shows what each placement earns. The price is one flat monthly fee, with unlimited orders and no share of upsell revenue.
If your upsell revenue is growing, that is the whole difference: the part of it that goes back to the app stops growing with it.
Switching without losing ground
- In ReConvert’s analytics, note which offers actually bring revenue. Rebuild those first rather than recreating everything.
- Write down trigger products, offered products and discounts before you uninstall anything.
- Select the new app for the post-purchase page in Shopify’s checkout settings: only one app can run that page at a time.
- Keep the same offers for a few weeks and compare the extra revenue, not the acceptance rate.
Who should stay, who should switch
Stay if you use the product page widget, the thank-you page builder, segmentation or the recommendation engine: those are not in a simpler app. Switch if your offers live before and after payment, if your order volume is climbing, and if you would rather know your app bill in advance.
